Well done to fearless Harriers, Eileen Stewart, Louise Smart and Claire Oliphant who again took-up the challenge of the Quadrathon! This iconic four day festival of running, tests athletes resilience and determination, and takes place along the scenic Wild Atlantic Way. By Sunday Eileen had run four testing half marathons; and Louise and Claire conquered four marathons along the rugged coastal roads of the unspoilt Inishowen Peninsula.

Absolutely fantastic running by Chris Hopkins this morning, winning the Rock the Lakes & Lough 10K in a superb 35.10.

Congratulations to County Antrim Harrier, Kerry Knipe, on her superb win at last nights Broughshane 10k (43:10). Kerry was placed second in the 2021 event.

Well done to everyone who took part in tonight’s “Naked Run” especially in that heat. We hope that you enjoyed the experience and the challenge of pacing yourself without any technology.

We had a few prizes for those closest to their time, those may have underestimated their abilities and ran considerably faster than predicted and of course the best undressed!!

3)      Joanne Robinson and Fiona McCowan – 6 seconds off predicted time

Underestimators
1)      Melanie Sheppard – ran 4 minutes 12 seconds faster than predicted
2)      Caroline Johnston – ran 3 minutes 46 seconds faster than predicted
3)      Amy Herron – ran 3 minutes 2 seconds faster than predicted.

County Antrim Harriers were delighted to present our May Fair Races 2022 starter and Ballyclare’s very own Commonwealth Paratriathlete, Oliver Gunning, with a donation of £250 from this years event to assist with his training.

The Club wishes him all the very best in his preparation for upcoming races at the end of the summer.
