Running Safely

SIX SAFETY TIPS RUNNING AT DUSK AND DAWN

NEVER TURN YOUR BACK  – run against the traffic so you can see a potential accident coming.

LIGHTEN UP – wear reflective gear preferably on arms and legs that are in motion, a headlamp is also a good idea.

TURN OFF THE TUNES – reducing your sense to hear can prove deadly especially at night when vision is also reduced.

CAN I SEE SOME ID – family contact, existing medical conditions, blood type and mobile phone at least one in each group

PUT A LID ON IT – brimmed hats and clear glasses are useful to protect your eyes at night. Hats with a reflector at the back are also a good idea.

STICK TO FOOTPATHS WHEN POSSIBLE – be careful of icy conditions in the winter.
