November Club Highlights

2nd November – McConnell Shield XC

  • Thirteen Harriers faced the challenging mud, with standout XC debuts from Rhonda Barkley and Tracey Hegarty.

2nd November – Minnowburn 10K

  • A scenic but demanding route featuring hills and trails.

3rd November – EAMS Half Marathon

  • Sharyn Lowe made an incredible debut, having started C25K in January.

9th November – Tollymore Trail Events

  • Twelve Harriers excelled:
    • Suzanne Dickey completed her first Ultra Marathon.
    • Caroline Johnston achieved her first Half Marathon.

16th November – Masters XC International

  • Irene Downey proudly represented the club and Northern Ireland.

16th November – Parkrun Milestone

  • Jennifer Moore celebrated her 50th Parkrun milestone at Sixmilewater.

17th November – Belfast City 5K Fun Run

  • Despite snowy conditions, Michael Childs achieved a personal best.

30th November – Seeley Cup 10K

  • Strong performances, with Michael Childs earning another personal best.

Weather Cancellations

  • Several events, including the Malcolm Cup, An Creggan 5 Miler, and club training sessions, were cancelled due to adverse weather.

December Roundup

Northern Ireland Hospice Festive 5K

  • Ten Harriers, joined by a junior Harrier, took part in this annual charity event. Festive outfits, mild weather, and a hilly course made for a fun and rewarding morning, with everyone leaving proud of their festive medals.

Tollymore 10K

  • On December 14th, three Harriers ventured to Newcastle to tackle a scenic but challenging 10K in Tollymore Forest. The festive atmosphere included sightings of Santa and the Gingerbread Man.

Ronnie Johnston’s 400th Parkrun

  • A huge congratulations to Ronnie Johnston for completing his 400th Parkrun at Antrim, where he holds the record for the most Parkruns completed—a truly impressive milestone!

Malaga Marathon

  • Martin Hull delivered a strong performance at the Malaga Marathon on December 15th. Despite a minor injury, he completed the flat and well-supported course, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and delicious food of the city.

Boxing Day Win – Chris Hopkins

  • Congratulations to Chris Hopkins for an outstanding victory at the Brocagh Bay Boxing Day 10K, finishing in an incredible time of 33:38. A fantastic achievement!
