Health and Safety Policy

March 2017

County Antrim Harriers is committed to providing a safe environment for all our athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. We will follow the UK Athletics Approved Code of Conduct and all guidelines issued by Athletics NI in order to promote high standards of health, safety and welfare within the club.

We will comply with all relevant statutory requirements, and ensure that appropriate and sufficient risk assessments are carried out. Necessary procedures and safe practices will be adopted and updated when necessary as a result of these risk assessments.

We undertake to ensure appropriate instruction and training is available to all parties, and all reasonable and practical measures will be taken to help avoid risk.

The responsibility of ensuring safety rests with everyone concerned. Athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, facility providers, meeting organisers, spectators and the general public all have a duty of care to ensure that their actions do not affect the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others.
