Training – Week Beginning 1st March 2015

Monday 2nd March 2015

6 mile route: Out Leisure Centre lane, turn left onto Ballynure Road and towards Henryville, go to bottom and up and right onto Ballynure Road again then left at Hollybush and through into Colinview and come out and turn right onto the Green Road then onto Mill Road across the park and do Grange Valley lap and half then out and turn left up Hawthorne Way and Ollardale and then left onto Doagh Road and do Huntingdale, graveyard, Highgrove then back to Leisure Centre via Mauds and Home bargains. 

5 miles only: Do 1 lap Grange Valley and leave out Huntingdale and Graveyard and just do Highgrove and back in by Doagh Road, Mauds and in. 

3 mile group: Go out Leisure Centre lane turn right onto Ballynure Road then onto Mill Road across the park and into Grange Valley for a lap and half, then left up Hawthorne way and Ollardaleand right at the Chapel onto the Doagh Road and in via Mauds and Home Bargains.

Monday 2nd February

3 mile route: Head out old Asda path then turn down the Main Street to Mill Road, cross over the park and turn right to go to the end of Avondale Drive turn left up Main Street keeping to right path then right out Ballycorr Road to Riverdale do 1 lap then in back Leisure Centre path.

5 mile route: Head out the Leisure Centre path turn left onto Ballynure Rd, keep on right path and turn right into Holybush Gardens through Collinview onto Green Road then follow on to Mill Road cross over the park onto Avondale Drive, turn left up Main Street keeping to right path then right
out Ballycorr Road to Riverdale do 1 lap then go back onto Ballycorr Road and in back Leisure Centre path.

6 mile route:  Leading on from the above go to end of Ballycorr Road and head towards Doagh Road, left at Ollardale and lap of Grange Valley and in via Avondale.

Monday 19th January

3 mile route: Out via Granges Street. Along the Doagh Road to the cemetery and back. Onto Rashee Road, at ASDA roundabout turn onto Ballyeaston Road, right onto Ballycorr Road. Lap of Riverdale and return to Leisure Centre via back path.

Longer route: same as above but at ASDA roundabout continue up Rashee Road, right onto Charles Drive, right onto Ballyeaston Road, left onto Ballycorr Road. Lap of Riverdale and return to Leisure Centre via back path.

6+ mile route:Out via Granges Street.Left down Main Street, right onto Mill Road to the (very) end. Turn back then left through Park (be careful on bridge) left onto Avondale, lap (or lap and half) of Grange Valley, back onto Avondale & left up Ollardale. Left onto Doagh Road and run to the cemetery (including Huntingdale & Highgrove as wanted) and back. At ASDA roundabout continue up Rashee Road, right onto Charles Drive, right onto Ballyeaston Road, left onto Ballycorr Road. Lap of Riverdale and return to Leisure Centre via back path.

Monday 12th January

6 mile route: Leave Leisure Centre by Ballynure Road, right then left up Green Road, Colin View, Holly Bush, right on Ballynure Road, Henryville, Ballynure Road, Mill Road, left hand side of road, left into Beechview, right up to the end and back to Mill Road, left, into Mill View, up to the end and back onto Mill Road, cross over, through park,Hawthorn, left, cross road, Clare Heights, Russell Manor, High Grove, all the the top and back down. Return to Leisure Centre via the Old Asda entrance.

4.4 mile route: Same as 6 mile except leave out the Green Road, Henryville section. Go straight to Mill Road.

3 mile route: Same as 4.4 miles except return to Leisure Centre after Claire Heights.

Monday 5th January

5 miles route: Out back path, lap of Riverdale. Onto Ballycorr Road, up Ballyeaston Road, along Charles Drive and up Rashee Road. Up and down Victoria Road, followed by Readers Park and then Rathmena. Down Rashee Road and back to leis centre via Asda path.

6 miles route: As above and then out Doagh Road and turn left at the Chapel and down Hawthorn Way to Avondale. Into Leisure Centre via Ballynure Road.

3 miles route: Out back path onto Ballycorr Road. Turn left along to Asda roundabout , then up Rashee Road, along Victoria Road both ways and back down Rashee Road to Leisure Centre via Asda. This 3 miler should be suitable for any new runners. Can leave out Victoria Road for 2 miles .Come along and join us – there will always be someone to run with and chat to!

Wednesday 7th January

Alternative:  1 mile warm-up, 1 mile repeats with 800m jog in between, 1 mile cool down

Monday 15th December

Head out Granges Lane, Doagh Road , Huntingdale,turn right at the bottom and do a loop of Huntingdale Court then back up to the top turn left graveyard then High Grove go to the top and back then head back to the square and turn left up the Rashee Road until Readers Park do a loop of Readers then head down to Rathmena then out via Hillmount, then head down through the town, optional whether you go round past the fire station or go in Granges Lane.

Wednesday 17th December – Christmas Tinsel Run

Out the back path to do 1 or 2 laps of Riverdale. Back along Ballycorr Road, turn right up Ballyeaston Road. Up and into Craighill, back down and along Charles Drive onto Rashee Road. Up to Victoria Road both ways, Readers and then Rathmena and back down to the Square. Along Doagh Road, turn left at Chapel and down Hawthorn Way to Avondale Drive. Turn left and along to Main Street, Ballynure Road and in. Keep in groups and be prepared for colder conditions.

Leave Leisure Centre via Asda back path, Left on to Ballycorr Road, Right onto Ballyeasaton Road, Left onto Charles Drive, Left onto Rashee, Down Main Street to very bottom, Left on to Ballynure Road, Left into Henryville, bottom and back up, right onto Ballynure Road, left into Tin Town, Into Colinview, right down Green Road, right up main street, Left into Avondale, for those that want 4 miles do a small lap of Grange Valley. For those wanting 6 miles do a lap and a half, left up through Olaardale, right on Doagh Road, up mainstreet, Ballyeaston road, Right on Ballycorr road, a lap of Riverdale and return to Leisure Centre via the back path
