18/3/17 – Larne Half Marathon

The Club had another successful outing to the Larne Half Marathon, with 25 tackling the course, and 5 achieving well deserved PBs.  Special mention to Marty Kilpatrick, Dean McBride, Lynette McBride, and Tanya Smith who all made impressive half marathon debuts.

19/2/17 Louise Becomes Last Woman Standing

On Saturday 18/2/2017, 141 runners from all over Northern Ireland and further afield started the unique Last One Standing endurance race. After 26 hours and 26 laps (by day and torch light) of the 4.2 mile trail loop, totalling 109.6 miles, Louise Smart – one of only 9 competitors and the only woman to do so – was crowned Last Woman Standing! The Club is very proud of Louise and this amazing achievement.

County Antrim Harriers is launching its first ever Couch to 5K Programme!

NO RUNNING EXPERIENCE OR FITNESS LEVEL REQUIRED- JUST A PAIR OF TRAINERS AND A SENSE OF HUMOUR!

Couch to 5K is a 9 week programme to get newbies up and running in time for the County Antrim Harriers May Fair 5K Fun Run on Saturday 28 May 2016. By the way sign up for our C25K and you receive a FREE ENTRY to this race worth £10 and a race goodie bag!!!

Every Mon & Wed 9th March- 11th May (exc Easter Week 28th & 30th March) 6-7pm meeting outside the leisure centre. Qualified Coaches. Minimum age 16.

Please download and complete the attached registration form and bring it along with your £20 to our registration evening on Monday 7th March at Ballyclare Six Mile Leisure Centre between 6pm and 8pm

Training – Week Beginning 8th March 2015

Monday 9th March 2015

6 mile route: Out Leisure Centre lane, turn left onto Ballynure Road and towards Henryville, go to bottom and up and right onto Ballynure Road again then left at Hollybush and through into Colinview and come out and turn right onto the Green Road then onto Mill Road across the park and do Grange Valley lap and half then out and turn left up Hawthorne Way and Ollardale and then left onto Doagh Road and do Huntingdale, Graveyard, Highgrove  then back to Leisure Centre via Mauds and Home Bargains.

5 miles only: Do 1 lap Grange Valley and leave out Huntingdale and Graveyard and just do Highgrove and back in by Doagh Road, Mauds and in.

3 mile group: Go out Leisure Centre lane turn right onto Ballynure Rd then onto Mill Road across the park and into Grange Valley for a lap and half, then left up Hawthorne Way and Ollardale and right at the Chapel onto the Doagh Road and in via Mauds and Home Bargains.
