28/9/19 Andrena Podiums at Causeway

Congratulations to Andrena Berry on her well deserved podium place at the gruelling Causeway Coast Ultra (40 miles).
Andrena, along with ten other County Antrim Harriers took to the trails of the beautiful North Coast for popular 26Extreme event. The Club was represented in the Ultra, Half and 10k distances, and despite glorious sunshine, recent rain had made the ground muddy underfoot, but this wasn’t a problem for any of the hardy Harriers.

The Harriers were supported and cheered around the course by fellow Club members. Well done everyone on another successful race day.

22/9/19 New Record Set At Belfast Half Marathon

County Antrim Harriers were out on force, on Sunday, for the 2019 running of the popular Deep River Rock Belfast City Half Marathon. Despite the weather being a factor throughout the race, it didn’t dampen spirits nor the Harriers performances, with many well-deserved PBs, and the setting of a Club record!

Jana Ross gave another superb performance to reset the Clubs ladies Half Marathon once again (1:26:16).

September 2019 Club Delighted to Support Local Charities

County Antrim Harriers are delighted, to again be able, to make generous donations (totalling £2000) from this year’s successful May Fair Races, to support the work of a number of local charities: MS Society; OGCancerNI; Children’s Cancer Unit Charity; Cancer Lifeline; and Air Ambulance NI.

31/8 & 1/9/19 Last One Standing, Florence Court

Absolutely outstanding performances by Sarah & David at their first Last One Standing event – 15 hours of toeing the line of the tough 4.2 mile trail loop – 15 hours of running in rain, sun, in daylight and by torchlight – 15 hours of running on progressively heavy and sore legs. But keeping each other going to run an amazing 63 miles.

24 & 25/8/19 Louise Wins Again

The weekend saw Louise Smart take on another ultra challenge, this time the Liverpool Leeds Canal Race.  The race follows the 130 mile towpath of Britain’s longest man-made waterway, including the mile long Burnley Embankment (up to 60 feet above ground level) and the Bingley Five Rise Staircase – both of which are listed among the “Seven Wonders of the Waterways”.  Despite the high temperatures, and testing route, which resulted in the early retirement of many participants, Louise powered on with her usual tenacity and determination, to finish on Sunday morning as first female and sixth overall! Amazing achievement.

15-18/8/19 Quadrathon Success

Well done to Martin Graham, Claire Oliphant, Eileen Stewart and Tracy Gilpin who conquered four testing back-to-back half marathons (52.4 miles), over 4 days, in all sorts of weather, along the rugged Wild Atlantic Way at the unique Quadrathon Quest in County Donegal.
