{"id":6676,"date":"2025-01-01T18:06:54","date_gmt":"2025-01-01T18:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/countyantrimharriers.co.uk\/?p=6676"},"modified":"2025-01-01T18:07:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-01T18:07:22","slug":"november-and-december-club-highlights-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/countyantrimharriers.co.uk\/?p=6676","title":{"rendered":"November and December Club Highlights 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>November Club Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2nd November \u2013 McConnell Shield XC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thirteen Harriers faced the challenging mud, with standout XC debuts from Rhonda Barkley and Tracey Hegarty.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2nd November \u2013 Minnowburn 10K<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A scenic but demanding route featuring hills and trails.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3rd November \u2013 EAMS Half Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sharyn Lowe made an incredible debut, having started C25K in January.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9th November \u2013 Tollymore Trail Events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Twelve Harriers excelled:<ul><li>Suzanne Dickey completed her first Ultra Marathon.<\/li><li>Caroline Johnston achieved her first Half Marathon.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16th November \u2013 Masters XC International<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Irene Downey proudly represented the club and Northern Ireland.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16th November \u2013 Parkrun Milestone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jennifer Moore celebrated her 50th Parkrun milestone at Sixmilewater.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>17th November \u2013 Belfast City 5K Fun Run<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Despite snowy conditions, Michael Childs achieved a personal best.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>30th November \u2013 Seeley Cup 10K<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Strong performances, with Michael Childs earning another personal best.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weather Cancellations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Several events, including the Malcolm Cup, An Creggan 5 Miler, and club training sessions, were cancelled due to adverse weather.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>December Roundup<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Northern Ireland Hospice Festive 5K<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ten Harriers, joined by a junior Harrier, took part in this annual charity event. Festive outfits, mild weather, and a hilly course made for a fun and rewarding morning, with everyone leaving proud of their festive medals.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tollymore 10K<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>On December 14th, three Harriers ventured to Newcastle to tackle a scenic but challenging 10K in Tollymore Forest. The festive atmosphere included sightings of Santa and the Gingerbread Man.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ronnie Johnston&#8217;s 400th Parkrun<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A huge congratulations to Ronnie Johnston for completing his 400th Parkrun at Antrim, where he holds the record for the most Parkruns completed\u2014a truly impressive milestone!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Malaga Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Martin Hull delivered a strong performance at the Malaga Marathon on December 15th. Despite a minor injury, he completed the flat and well-supported course, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and delicious food of the city.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Boxing Day Win \u2013 Chris Hopkins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Congratulations to Chris Hopkins for an outstanding victory at the Brocagh Bay Boxing Day 10K, finishing in an incredible time of 33:38.
