12th March 2018 – 16 May 2018 – Ballyclare – Fee: £25 entry into May Fair race included, T-Shirt & Medal included
Have you always wanted to take up running, but didn’t know how to start? Are you wanting to get more fit, meet new friends and get outdoors? Then County Antrim Harriers are here to get you started. Now in its third year, our successful C25K program will take you from the very beginning, on to being able to complete your first 5k at the May Fair 5k Fun Run. No previous running experience is required, but if you have run in the past, this may be a great way to get you back out. The programme is only open to those that are 18 years and over. It will run for 9 weeks (Not on Easter week!) on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 pm for 1 hour, starting from the Sixmile Leisure Centre in Ballyclare. Training will be in local parks with no running on roads. You will be led by qualified coaches and accompanied by experienced runners each night. Also, you will be surrounded by fellow beginners, so a supportive atmosphere is guaranteed to help you on your journey. There is ample parking at the Leisure Centre and toilet facilities available.
Once you have registered online, just bring the £25 fee to the meet and greet night on Wednesday 7th March, upstairs in the Leisure Centre @ 6pm-8pm. This one off fee will get you access to the 9-week programme and entry to the Ballyclare Mayfair Fun Run, when you will get a race T-shirt and exclusive medal for finishers! As with all new fitness programmes speak to your GP before embarking on this course.
